Helicopters in one piece
Rotorcraft leave the hangar covered and in one piece – rotor head and tail boom stay mounted.
A helicopter is not dismantled for transport, but covered and loaded in one piece. That saves disassembly and recommissioning, but requires a load bed that takes the skids or landing gear cleanly.
The tarpaulin does more than protect against the weather: it stops the airflow from catching the rotor blades and attachments.
